River Fishing

Without debate, the Williamson is one of the finest spring fed rivers in the West. Located in southern Oregon, the river springs roll from the wooded savanna of Winema National Forest, flowing gently through spruce and pine woodlands before entering Klamath Lake.

Incredibly clear and gentle, the Williamson is a pleasure to fish. There is a huge resident rainbow population, enhanced by the summer migration of large rainbows and some browns from the lake. Trout exceeding 10 pounds are an every day possibility, and fish in the 5 pound class are common.

The Williamson is a fly fisherman's dream. Passing ducks and geese, the scream of the eagle coupled with the fragrance of wild flowers, pine and river grasses are all part of this wonderful pastoral scene.

"The Williamson is considered by many to be the best trophy rainbow stream in the Western United States."
